Overview

The Registered Practical Nurse provides attentive, person-centred care, supporting patients’ comfort, safety, and day-to-day health needs. The role involves communicating with patients, families, and colleagues and contributing to coordinated care.

Responsibilities

- Assess patient needs, monitor changes, and document care accurately using appropriate clinical records.
- Provide patient care, administer medications, support pain management, and assist with phlebotomy within established procedures.
- Use medical terminology and relevant electronic health record systems, such as Epic or Cerner, to maintain clear, timely documentation.
- Adapt care to individual needs, including dementia care, pediatrics, senior care, and hospice settings, and share relevant updates with the care team.

Requirements





Required: Practical nursing capabilities in patient care, observation, accurate documentation, communication, and protected medication administration support effective daily care. Preferred: Nursing home, hospital, acute care, home care, assisted living, medical office, or laboratory experience; experience with children, dementia, senior or hospice care, case management, phlebotomy, pain management, and Epic or Cerner is an asset.
