Hume Edge is an AI people enablement and consulting firm based in Calgary. We help enterprise organizations across Canada put AI to work in their business, through AI strategy, executive leadership programs, workforce skilling, and adoption and value measurement. Our Microsoft practice delivers Copilot programs for enterprise clients, from awareness sessions through to agents built for specific teams and workflows.
Most organizations believe that deploying Copilot creates value on its own. Experience shows otherwise. Value shows up when people change how they work, and when the tools in front of them fit the work they do.
Overview
We are seeking a Solution Architect / Developer specializing in Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry to design and deliver secure, scalable AI solutions. The Microsoft Copilot Developer designs, builds, and deploys agents and workflows on the Microsoft 365 Copilot platform for enterprise clients. The work starts with a business use case identified by a client team or a Hume Edge consultant and ends with a working agent that real people use, inside the client's tenant, governance, and data boundaries.
The developer works alongside Hume Edge engagement leads, AI Enablement Consultants, and Copilot trainers, and with client IT, security, and business stakeholders. The developer is the person who turns "could Copilot do this for us?" into a built answer and a transparent account of what it took.
This is a hands on role. It suits a builder who can also sit with a finance manager or an HR director, understand the work, and explain the trade offs in plain language.
This role combines solution architecture with hands-on software development, integrating conversational experiences, enterprise data, and existing applications. You will work with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate business needs into practical designs, guide implementation, and support solutions through deployment and ongoing improvement.

- Apply sound practices for software development, application development, testing, version control, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, data specialists, and operations teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Troubleshoot performance and integration issues, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in solution architecture and software development, ideally involving Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure, or comparable cloud and AI platforms.
- Strong knowledge of API design and integration, including REST and HTTPS, and experience with enterprise application development.
- Experience with one or more of the following languages and frameworks: C#,.NET, ASP.NET Core, Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C, C++, Ruby on Rails, or Perl.
- Familiarity with web and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, React, Backbone.js, Ember.js, Ext JS, Kendo, Bootstrap,
ActionScript, or WordPress.
- Experience with data platforms and technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Hibernate, Entity Framework, NoSQL, Kafka, or S3.
- Exposure to cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure tools such as AWS, Azure, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, SVN, Maven, Bash (Unix shell), and Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with additional frameworks and tools such as WCF, MVC, Struts, Spring Framework, Visual Studio, JUnit, and XML is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly, work effectively across technical teams, and deliver maintainable solutions.
- A portfolio, project summary, or URL demonstrating relevant work may be included with an application.
