Duties

- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other building materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform general woodworking and carpentry tasks, including framing, repairs, and finish work.
- Assist with concrete forming and concrete finishing, as project needs require.
- Install, repair, or replace drywall and siding.
- Contribute to restoration work, including assessing damaged areas and completing repairs to match existing structures.
- Operate or assist with heavy equipment when qualified and authorized.
- Perform welding tasks when qualified and required for the project.
- Keep work areas organized, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with other crew members.
- Lift and move materials and equipment as needed, including items requiring heavy lifting.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine job requirements, dimensions, materials and work sequence.

- Take measurements and prepare layouts using measuring tools, ensuring that the work follows project specifications and applicable building codes.





- Select and prepare lumber, wood products, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other construction materials.

- Measure, mark, cut, shape, assemble and join materials using hand and power tools.

- Build, install and repair structural components, including foundations, floor beams, subfloors, walls and roof systems, as required by the project.

- Install and fit doors, windows, stairs, mouldings, trim and hardware.

- Inspect completed work to confirm that components are properly aligned, securely installed and meet project specifications.

- Coordinate work with supervisors and other construction workers on site.

Requirements

- Practical carpentry skills and relevant construction experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics or willingness to develop these skills.
- Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools, and the ability to use them safely.
- Ability to measure accurately, follow instructions, and produce careful, quality work.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift materials as required by the job.
- Commitment to workplace safety and effective teamwork.
- Experience in concrete forming or finishing, drywall, restoration, siding, heavy equipment operation, or welding is a plus.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
