Overview

The Associate Lawyer at Koskie Minsky LLP supports clients in a range of legal matters, with a focus on litigation, labour and employment law, and related disputes. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, analyzing case-related information, and assisting with litigation and negotiation strategies. Working collaboratively with partners, colleagues, and clients, the Associate Lawyer helps ensure matters are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Responsibilities

- Conduct legal research and analyze legislation, case law, and relevant legal precedents to support case preparation and legal decision-making.
- Draft, review, and revise pleadings, legal memoranda, correspondence, and other documents with a robust focus on clarity, accuracy, and legal compliance.
- Assist in preparing for hearings, negotiations, mediations, and other dispute-resolution proceedings by organizing evidence and evaluating relevant legal issues.
- Review case documents and supporting materials to identify key facts, assess potential legal arguments, and support the development of case strategies.
- Maintain accurate and organized matter files, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with partners, colleagues,



and other stakeholders to support timely case progression.
- Contribute to client communications and provide research-based legal support in accordance with the firm's practice areas and professional standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and drafting skills; excellent attention to detail; the ability to interpret legal authorities, organize complex information, and manage competing priorities effectively.

Preferred: Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis, experience in litigation or labour and employment law, and strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $142,804.32-$145,589.93 per year
