As a Dispatcher, you will play an essential role in ensuring our daily school bus routes operate safely and efficiently. You will coordinate driver and vehicle coverage, manage radio communications, assist with charter dispatching, and provide administrative support to the operations team.

Position: Dispatcher
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Shift to be determined.
Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily school bus routes to ensure every route has an assigned driver and vehicle.
- Arrange replacement and spare drivers to cover absences, holidays, and other staffing requirements.
- Manage two-way radio communications, responding to emergencies calmly and professionally.
- Assist with charter dispatching and scheduling.
- Provide spare route coverage by driving various types of buses and vehicles as required.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and greet visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform general administrative duties,



including filing, keyboarding, photocopying, and other office tasks.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, operations staff, shop personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Promote a strong safety culture and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Support other team members and departments as operational needs arise.

Qualifications

- Valid Class B driver's licence required.
- Previous dispatching experience is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and skilled in stressful situations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where schedules and priorities may change.
- A team-oriented attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to assist where needed.
