Position Summary

As an Outside Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with residential and commercial clients, focusing on the sale of custom blinds, shades, shutters, and window covering solutions. This field-based role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused professional who enjoys meeting clients in their homes or on job sites, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored design and product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, contractors, designers, builders, and property managers
- Develop and grow a portfolio of residential and commercial clients within the Ottawa region
- Conduct in-home and on-site consultations to assess customer needs, take measurements, and recommend appropriate window covering solutions
- Present product options including blinds, shades, shutters, motorized systems, and accessories
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and close sales while maintaining profitability
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate orders, scheduling, and seamless installation
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and generate repeat and referral business
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new product offerings




- Maintain accurate customer records and submit regular sales reports
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, or special requests
- Stay up to date on product knowledge, design trends, and installation best practices

Qualifications

- 2–4 years of outside sales or account management experience, preferably in window coverings, home improvement, construction, or design-related industries
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Confidence conducting in-home consultations and closing sales
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and organized
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Diploma or degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field is an asset
