MUST BE ABLE TO COOK FOR 120 CHILDREN DAILY!!

3 meals daily breakfast lunch and pm snack

*MUST HAVE WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF FOOD ALERGIES AND BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH ALTERNATIVES!

In this energetic position, you will be responsible for preparing and serving healthy food options tailored to children's dietary needs, ensuring safety and quality at every step. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to food safety will help create a welcoming environment that promotes well-being and enjoyment for every child in our care.

MUST be able to work 7:30am to 4:30pm daily

* Must be able to walk up and down stairs while carrying food bins (5-10 lbs)

* MUST be able to work alone to complete ALL duties/ run the kitchen~!

Must be able to meet Toronto Public Health reequipments for food

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks suitable for children of various age groups, following approved menus and dietary guidelines
- Serve food in a friendly, effective manner that encourages positive eating experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food handling and safety standards




- Assist with meal planning, ensuring balanced nutrition and variety in daily menus
- Monitor food inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted meal service
- Follow all food safety protocols during food preparation, handling, storage, and disposal
- Collaborate with childcare staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies

Requirements

- Proven experience in food service, cooking, or meal preparation within a restaurant or similar environment
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Ability to serve meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles suitable for children’s development
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail
- Prior experience working in the food industry or kitchen environment is highly desirable
- Passion for providing healthy, appealing meals that support children’s growth and happiness
- Food Handling Certification preferred
- Meet province requirement for childcare employment
- Current Standard First Aid and Infant Child CPR
- Effective time management skills
- Experience cooking for large groups would be an asset

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
