Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Tutor and the sciences. You will be responsible for providing personalized or small-group tutoring to students in subjects in one of the subjects: AI & Coding, Roblox/Minecraft Coding, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, ESL.

Key Responsibilities

- Bilingual Instruction & Tutoring: Fluently, accurately, and clearly instruct elementary/high school STEM and Science, English curriculum content.
- Customized Teaching: Design and implement individualized lesson plans and tutoring strategies based on each student's pace, comprehension level, and specific academic needs.
- Content Preparation: Prepare and organize high-quality teaching materials, practice problems, and assessment tools to support instruction.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' learning progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate performance updates to students and/or parents.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, interactive, and highly effective learning environment.

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Math, Engineering, Science, Education. Engineering, or a related field. (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology majors preferred.)
- Language Proficiency: English, and Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese Prefered.
- Subject Knowledge:



In-depth knowledge and a strong foundation in at least two (ideally all three) science subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Experience: 1+ years of related teaching, tutoring, or educational work experience is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students and parents.
- Teaching Methodology: Familiarity with various teaching methods and strategies that motivate student learning.
- Availability: Ability to work flexibly and adhere to an after-school and weekend tutoring schedule.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

- Possession of OCT or relevant educational certification.
- Familiarity with the education system and science curriculum frameworks of Ontario, such as AP, IB, SAT, OSSD, etc.
- Experience using online tutoring tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, or online whiteboard applications).

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
