Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Shop & Field Service on behalf of our client, a well-established company specializing in heavy construction and road-building equipment.

Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable mechanic to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction machinery, both in the shop and at various job sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting equipment issues, and working with a diverse fleet of heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine problems.
- Repair and service graders, loaders, excavators, pavers, rollers, compactors, plows, cranes, and other construction equipment.
- Maintain diesel- and gasoline-powered light and heavy trucks.
- Perform equipment repairs both in the shop and in the field.
- Identify worn or damaged components and complete necessary repairs or replacements.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.




- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Follow established workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification or Red Seal endorsement preferred.
- 4th-year apprentices will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with construction and road-building equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Comfortable performing repairs in both shop and field environments.
- Must have personal hand tools and steel-toed safety boots.
