Convenience Store Clerk

Location: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia
Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour
Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week

We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Convenience Store Clerk, with the potential to advance into a Shift Supervisor role.

No previous experience is required. We provide all necessary training and are looking for someone with the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing a job well, enjoys helping customers, and can stay organized and productive while working independently. Key Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, professional customer service and operate the cash register.
- Handle cash, lottery, and tobacco transactions accurately and in accordance with store procedures and laws
- Restock shelves, face merchandise, rotate products, and check deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable store.
- Prepare and maintain coffee and slushie stations.
- Complete required temperature checks, safety logs, and shift documentation.
- Monitor inventory and report shortages, discrepancies, equipment issues, and other concerns.
- Complete priority tasks throughout the shift and identify additional work when time allows.
- Ensure the store is clean, stocked, and ready for the next shift.
- Communicate significant mistakes, operational issues, and unfinished tasks promptly and honestly.
- Follow established procedures and complete other duties as required.

Opportunity for Advancement: Shift Supervisor

Schedule and Availability

This is a part-time position offering approximately 15–25 hours per week, with a mostly consistent weekly schedule, with opportunities for more hours

Applicants must have availability for evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation to and from the assigned store is required.

Training Provided

No previous convenience-store experience is necessary. We will provide the training needed to learn store procedures, customer service, cash handling, lottery and tobacco transactions, and daily operational responsibilities. We will hire for the right attitude!
