Multi-Unit Operations Manager / General Manager – Restaurants & Hospitality
Blue Mountain / Collingwood, Ontario | Full time Leadership Position
We are looking for an experienced food & beverage leader to oversee operations across our growing collection of restaurants, cafés and quick-service concepts in the Blue Mountain and Collingwood area.
We are looking for someone who understands the complexities of managing multiple locations, knows how to develop strong managers and has the operational experience to bring consistency, accountability and structure to a growing business.
You may already be working as a Multi-Unit General Manager, Area Manager or District Manager.
Or perhaps you have spent the last several years working closely alongside a strong multi-unit leader, playing a significant role in daily operations, and are now ready to take the next step.
What matters most is that you have real multi-unit food & beverage experience and are ready to take ownership.
About Us
We are an independent hospitality group with approximately 20 years of experience operating in the Blue Mountain resort community.
Our portfolio includes several distinct food & beverage concepts, each with its own identity, operating model, management team and customer experience.
Our environment is fast-moving, highly seasonal and driven by tourism. Business volumes can change dramatically between seasons, weekends and holidays.
Successful operations here require more than managing what is happening today. They require planning ahead, anticipating staffing needs, preparing managers, understanding sales patterns and building teams capable of delivering during our busiest periods.
As our company continues to expand, we are looking for a leader who can strengthen our existing operations while helping us prepare for future growth.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You will provide operational leadership across multiple locations, working directly with General Managers and location leaders to improve performance, develop teams and maintain high operating standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Multi-Unit Leadership & Accountability
● Oversee daily operations and performance across multiple food & beverage locations.
● Lead, coach and develop General Managers and location management teams.
● Establish clear expectations, measurable goals and consistent accountability.
● Identify gaps in leadership, execution and operational performance.
● Ensure managers are effectively managing their teams, businesses and responsibilities.
● Support managers in resolving challenges while developing their ability to operate independently.
People Development & Team Building
● Participate in recruiting,
interviewing and selecting management talent.
● Support managers in building, training and retaining solid teams.
● Improve onboarding, training programs and ongoing employee development.
● Identify high-potential employees and create opportunities for internal advancement.
● Coach managers through employee performance issues, leadership challenges and team development.
● Build a management culture based on ownership, communication and accountability.
Financial & Operational Performance
● Monitor sales performance, labour costs, scheduling, food costs, inventory and COGS.
● Review operating results and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
● Work with managers to develop realistic labour plans and sales forecasts.
● Ensure inventory systems, purchasing practices and cost controls are properly maintained.
● Recognize operational inefficiencies and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
Operational Standards & Execution
● Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, service and guest experience.
● Conduct regular location visits and operational assessments.
● Ensure company procedures and operating standards are consistently followed.
● Identify recurring problems and address their root causes rather than relying on temporary fixes.
● Improve systems, processes and communication between locations.
● Support managers during high-volume service periods and operational challenges.
Seasonal Planning & Business Growth
● Prepare locations for seasonal fluctuations, peak weekends and holiday periods.
● Anticipate staffing, training, inventory and operational requirements before demand increases.
● Work with ownership to improve existing systems and develop scalable operating practices.
● Help build a management structure capable of supporting additional locations.
● Contribute ideas and operational strategies that improve both current performance and long-term growth.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is not measured by how many problems you personally solve in a day.
It is measured by how effectively your locations operate, how well your managers perform and how consistently your teams deliver.
We want someone who can walk into a restaurant, understand what is happening,
identify where improvements are needed and work with the manager to implement meaningful change.
Someone who can recognize when a business needs better systems, when a manager needs development and when accountability needs to improve.
Required Qualifications
● Previous multi-unit experience within food & beverage operations.
● Background in restaurants, cafés, fast-casual, QSR or high-volume hospitality environments.
● Experience leading, coaching or directly supporting managers across multiple locations.
● Strong working knowledge of labour management, scheduling, forecasting, food cost and inventory control.
● Demonstrated experience recruiting, training and developing hospitality teams.
● Ability to analyze operational performance and translate findings into action.
● Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
● Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
● Ability to travel regularly between locations in Blue Mountain and Collingwood.
● Availability to work on-site, including weekends, holidays and peak business periods.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Multi-Unit General Manager, Area Manager, District Manager, Regional Restaurant Manager, Multi-Unit Operations Manager, or an experienced Assistant/Associate Operations Manager who has worked directly alongside a multi-unit leader.
The Type of Leader Who Will Thrive Here
You are observant, organized and comfortable making decisions.
You understand that each location may have different challenges, but that consistent leadership, clear expectations and strong operating systems are essential across the entire business.
You enjoy developing people and take pride in seeing managers become more capable, confident and independent.
You know that strong operations are built through preparation, follow-through and continuous improvement.
Why Join Us?
This is an prospect to play a meaningful leadership role in an established, independent hospitality company that is continuing to grow.
Unlike a traditional corporate multi-unit position, you won’t simply be maintaining an existing operating structure.
You will have the opportunity to influence how our businesses operate, how our managers develop and how our company prepares for expansion.
You will work directly with ownership, have visibility across several different hospitality concepts and be involved in building the operational systems that support our future.
