Title: Static Security Guard

Employment Type: Temporary (As Needed)

Pay Rate: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour (Training Wage: $18.75 per hour)

Schedule: Flexible / As Needed (mornings, days, nights, and weekends)

Site Overview

Work across agile client environments throughout Duncan, Crofton, Chemainus, and Cowichan Bay. Locations range from retail settings and public events to supportive housing and port facilities, providing an active and varied workplace where no two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Static Security Guard, you will serve as a helpful, professional presence while maintaining a protected and secure environment. Your key duties will include:

- Providing high-quality customer service and building positive relationships with clients, visitors, and the public.

- Performing regular foot patrols to protect personnel, property, and facility equipment.

- Monitoring sites for safety hazards, security risks, and emergencies, and contacting emergency responders when necessary.

- Writing clear, accurate, and detailed daily logs, incident reports, and hazard updates.

- Utilizing de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution skills to manage challenging situations safely.

- Providing initial first aid response when emergency situations arise.

- Assisting with crowd control and respectfully handling unauthorized individuals or trespassers.

Must Haves

- Valid BC Security Licence (assistance available to help you earn your licence).

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Robust written and spoken English communication skills.

- Physical fitness and ability to walk and stand for extended periods during patrols.

Nice-to-Haves

- Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 or higher.





- Previous experience in customer service, security, or crisis intervention.
