SNOW REMOVAL - Equipment Operator

Overview
BREYCON is looking for seasonal, part-time (on occasion of snow fall) employee who has snow removal experience operating snow removal related equipment (skid-steer and/or loader). On-call to work evening shifts when required during snow fall. Must have good work ethic, teamwork skills, and safety focused.

This position requires a dedicated individual who is skilled in operating snow removal equipment and is committed to ensuring the safety of the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various tools and equipment used in landscape maintenance and snow removal.

**Potential chance for full-time, permanent position with paving/construction crews during summer months.

Duties

- Perform snow removal, loading and hauling with necessary snow removal equipment (loader and skidsteer)
- Perform general labour related to project demands, and assist with job site and related demands (Winter: snow removal, seasonal maintenance.)
- Conduct a pre-operational equipment inspection checklist before operating
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient and productive operations
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with company safety practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to identify hazards while operating equipment
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors
- Follow all safety requirements and policies at all times
- Participate in jobsite and safety meetings and reporting
- Possible summer task if seasonal employment extends: Operate equipment as it applies to base preparation, excavation, site preparation, grading, loading trucks, cut to fill, etc.





Requirements and skills

- Experience operating skidsteer and loader (or related equipment)
- Experience towing large trainers required
- Experience with sanding trucks and application is beneficial
- Safety focused; able to work safely and stay alert at all times
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Able to take instruction and work with crews to perform site related tasks
- Physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Able to pass drug and alcohol testing if required
- Must maintain a courteous and qualified manner with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the public at all times
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver's License - Must have valid driver’s license; able to transport to and from Edmonton head office
- CSTS and WHIMIS required; additional operator tickets are preferred
- Safety and construction certifications and other related training is beneficial
- Wage based on experience and qualifications upon reference
- Bonus if able to operate other heavy equipment and/or have experience in working with paving or utility installation
- Drug and alcohol testing may be required
