Kookees and Kisses Daycare is a licensed childcare centre. We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead daily operations, guide our team of educators, and make sure our programs meet the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and Ministry of Education licensing requirements. You will report to the director.

Responsibilities

Licensing and compliance

- Ensure the centre complies with the CCEYA, O. Reg. 137/15, and Ministry of Education licensing requirements.
- Prepare for and manage licensing inspections and follow up on any non-compliance.
- Monitor staff-to-child ratios and supervision practices throughout the day.
- Manage and report serious occurrences as required.
- Maintain required records, policies, procedures and staff files.
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.

Staff leadership

- Plan and direct the program of the childcare centre.
- Hire, schedule, mentor and evaluate RECEs, early childhood assistants and support staff.
- Arrange coverage so ratios are met every day, and step into the classroom when needed.
- Support ongoing professional development and foster a positive, collaborative team.
- Address performance concerns promptly and fairly.

Program quality

- Ensure programming reflects the centre's program statement and How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.
- Support educators with planning, observation and documentation of children's development.




- Review developmental observations and concerns and communicate them to families.

Health, safety and operations

- Maintain a safe, clean and secure workplace for children and staff.
- Ensure health, safety and emergency procedures (for example fire drills and lockdown drills) are followed.

Family and community relations

- Build respectful relationships with families and respond to concerns professionally.

Qualifications

Required

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting, including at least 5 year(s) in a lead or supervisory role.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (infant/child) certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- A vulnerable sector check (to be provided before starting).
- Ability to work on site and to lift, bend and be active with children throughout the day.

Assets

- Experience with CWELCC requirements and Ontario's childcare management systems.
- Experience with staff scheduling and budgeting.

Pay: $26.86-$28.00 per hour
