About Simolo Customs

Simolo Customs is a Canadian manufacturer of premium electric Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) for personal, recreational, and commercial use. We design and manufacture vehicles in the Okanagan, combining Canadian craftsmanship with innovative electric vehicle technology.

We’re looking for an organized, detail-oriented person to help manage our compliance documentation, develop clear manuals and procedures, and source components that support vehicle compliance.

About the Role

You will work closely with ownership and our production, technical, and service teams to keep company documentation accurate, current, and accessible.

This is a hands-on coordination role suited to someone who enjoys research, technical writing, organizing information, and following tasks through to completion. You don’t need to arrive as an LSV expert, but you do need strong writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to learn technical requirements.

Responsibilities

Vehicle compliance and documentation

- Organize and maintain LSV compliance files, supporting test reports, supplier documentation, and vehicle records.
- Research applicable requirements and regulatory updates, summarize findings, and flag items for technical or management review.
- Help prepare documentation for submissions, inspections, and audits.
- Track outstanding requirements, approvals, deadlines, and corrective actions.

Manuals and internal procedures

- Write, update, and organize owner’s manuals, maintenance instructions, and technical reference materials.
- Work with department leads to develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain document versions, approval records, and revision histories.
- Help ensure employees have access to current procedures and instructions.

Compliance component sourcing

- Research and source components needed to support compliance, including systems such as Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS).
- Obtain supplier specifications, test reports, quotations,

samples, and lead times.
- Coordinate technical reviews with our team before components are approved.
- Maintain approved component records and track supplier or product changes.

Company compliance and insurance coordination

- Maintain National Safety Code (NSC) documentation and related fleet and driver records, as applicable.
- Track insurance renewals, certificates, and policy documentation.
- Coordinate information requests with our insurance broker and management.
- Maintain a central calendar for renewals, inspections, document reviews, and other compliance deadlines.

Technical decisions and approvals will be made in collaboration with management and the appropriate technical team members.

What We’re Looking For

- Excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Confidence researching technical information and asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and digital filing systems.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple departments.
- Comfort working in an active manufacturing environment.

Experience in technical documentation, document control, manufacturing, quality assurance, compliance, purchasing, or fleet administration would be an asset. Familiarity with Transport Canada requirements, LSVs, or NSC records is helpful but not required.

What We Offer

- Starting wage of $28.00 per hour.
- Monday–Thursday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Health perks.
- Training and support to learn our vehicles, processes, and compliance systems.
- An opportunity to take ownership of an important role in Canadian electric vehicle manufacturing.

Apply through Indeed with your resume and a brief note describing your relevant experience and why this position interests you.
