Production Coordinator – Signage & Graphics

About the Opportunity

SpeedPro Signs is looking for a motivated, hands-on Production Coordinator to join our team.

This position combines client coordination, graphic production, sign fabrication, light construction, installation, and day-to-day production management.

We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. The ideal candidate has experience with Adobe Illustrator, is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with customers, and is comfortable working with both computers and tools.

This is not strictly a graphic design or administrative position. You'll be involved in coordinating customer projects, producing and installing signage, and ensuring jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Coordination

- Communicate directly with clients regarding project requirements, specifications, timelines, and job status.
- Coordinate customer orders from initial request through production and completion.
- Clarify artwork requirements, measurements, materials, and installation details.
- Prepare and coordinate artwork proofs and obtain customer approvals before production.
- Provide professional, responsive customer service and manage client expectations.
- Address customer questions and assist with resolving project concerns.
- Coordinate installation schedules and communicate project updates.

Production & Coordination

- Organize daily production schedules, work orders, and job priorities.
- Review artwork, specifications, and measurements before production.
- Monitor jobs through production to ensure quality and deadlines are met.
- Coordinate materials, inventory, and supplies.
- Identify and resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Graphic Production

- Use Adobe Illustrator to prepare, modify, resize, and set up artwork for production.
- Prepare print-ready and cut-ready files for large format printing.




- Operate or learn to operate wide-format printers, vinyl cutters, and laminators.
- Produce vinyl graphics, decals, banners, signs, and other printed materials.
- Apply vinyl, laminate graphics, trim materials, and complete finishing work.
- Ensure finished products meet quality standards.

Sign Fabrication & Installation

- Assist with fabrication and assembly of signs, displays, and other signage products.
- Perform light construction tasks, including measuring, cutting, drilling, fastening, and assembling materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
- Assist with in office installations, including wall graphics, window graphics, dimensional lettering, and exterior signage.
- Complete site visits for measurements and installation needs.
- Take accurate measurements and assist with site preparation.
- Troubleshoot practical installation and fabrication challenges.
- Coordinate installation partners.

Qualifications

Required

- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong customer service and client communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple customer projects and manage deadlines.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read measurements and follow specifications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to perform physical, hands-on work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.

Preferred Assets

- Experience in a sign shop, print production, graphics, or related industry.
- Experience with Roland printers, VersaWorks, or other wide-format printing equipment.
- Vinyl application, laminating, and sign installation experience.
- Light carpentry experience.




- Experience with vehicle graphics decals or wraps.
- Experience coordinating customer orders or production projects.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (23 kg) safely, with appropriate assistance or equipment when required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around the production shop throughout the day.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, handling signage materials, and using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work on ladders and assist with installations, following appropriate safety procedures and training.
