Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Tekla Designer to join our client’s drafting team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Tekla Structures, a solid structural steel fabrication background, and the ability to deliver fabrication-ready models and drawings with minimal direction. This is a senior-level, hands-on position that also includes mentoring junior and intermediate designers while working on a variety of modular and heavy industrial projects.

Duties

- Develop accurate 3D Tekla models and detailed structural drawings for skids, pipe racks, vessels, platforms, and modules.
- Review and check drawings and models to ensure accuracy, compliance, and fabrication readiness.
- Work independently from partial inputs, completing full designs with limited supervision.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and drafting colleagues in a fast-paced project environment.
- Contribute to drafting standards and recommend process improvements.
- Mentor junior and intermediate designers, sharing technical expertise and best practices.




- Support project execution on both greenfield and brownfield modular projects.

Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Tekla Structures (mandatory).
- Strong background in structural steel fabrication and detailing.
- Ability to transform partial input into complete fabrication-ready deliverables.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (daily use).
- Experience with modular gas processing facilities (asset).
- Familiarity with ASME codes (asset).
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proven ability to mentor and support junior team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
