Overview

We are looking for a Steel Fabricator to join our afternoon shift. As a Steel Fabricator, you will shape, cut, weld, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools and equipment. You’ll read blueprints and schematics to produce accurate work and help colleagues keep manufacturing and construction projects moving smoothly.

Duties

- Perform a daily inspection of the equipment and hand tools you are using
- Rig, hoist and move materials with a crane to storage areas or within shop on the horses
- Set up tools and equipment and move from station to station
- Fitting of structural steel beams and columns.
- Instructions will be given on which contract to work on and what priority sequence to follow
- Fabricators are to check the length of his piece and hole dimensions
- If the parts are not in the station already, the fabricator will gather them
- Look the parts over to see if they are visually and dimensionally OK
- Look the drawing over for weld symbols "Tacks" are to be incorporated into the welds
- If the part is only to be tacked, with no weld, the tack must be minimum half-inch long
- Fabricate the piece a safe and efficient manner
- Follow quality control measures.




- Basic torch cutting of plate and angle.
- Examine welds, parts or final products for quality assurance
- Clean tools, equipment and work areas

Requirements

- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Must be able to read and interpret weld symbols on drawings.
- Basic hand and power tool knowledge required.
- Current CWB FCAW Flat Position certification at the minimum.
- Experience in work with wire feed welding
- Be able to work with little or no direct supervision.
- Overhead crane operation and safety while co-workers are working in the area of use.
- Safe and practical handling of all rigging, equipment and steel including inspection of equipment, chains, slings and other related rigging.
- Must be physically able to lift items up to 50lbs.
- Be able to be on their feet for a large part of the day

Pay: From $34.00 per hour
