About us

We are a licensed child care program in Chalk River, Ontario, looking for a caring, reliable Early Childhood Educator to join our team. We offer a warm, play-based environment where children are supported to learn, explore, and feel safe every day.

The role

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work as part of our classroom team to plan and deliver quality programming that meets the needs of the children in your care, in line with How Does Learning Happen? and our centre’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

- Plan, implement, and document developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences
- Supervise and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Follow licensing requirements, centre policies, and daily routines (including ratios, attendance, and documentation)
- Support children’s individual needs, including guidance, inclusion, and any individual support plans
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Communicate clearly with families about children’s day and development
- Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and centre events as required
- Complete daily logs, observations, and other required records accurately and on time

Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)



in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (required)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain before start)
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (including infant/child) preferred; willingness to obtain if needed
- Strong knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? and Ontario child care licensing expectations
- Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Clear, respectful communication with children, families, and co-workers
- Experience with infant / toddler / preschool
- Provide Immunization Records or Immunization Exemption Document
- Able to provide a Medical Assessment

Hours & schedule

- Monday–Friday between 8am-5pm, potential of split shifts if needed, or on call
