About the Role
GTA Staffing is recruiting an Electrical Wiring Technician on behalf of our client, a Mississauga-based manufacturer of advanced medium voltage switchgear, electrical enclosures, and control systems. As a licensed Schneider Electric Canada partner operating out of a brand new $20M facility, our client builds electrical products used in data centers, mining operations, healthcare facilities, and industrial construction projects across North America.
In this role, you’ll wire and connect the internal components of electrical panels, switchgear cabinets, and control equipment by following engineering drawings and specifications. If you’re comfortable reading wiring diagrams, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in doing things neatly and correctly, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders
- Wire panels, switchgear cabinets, and control enclosures to engineering specifications
- Install and connect wires, cables, terminals, relays, contactors, breakers, fuses, and other components
- Measure, cut, strip, crimp, label, and route wires neatly and to spec
- Install wire ducts, cable ties, and cable management hardware for a clean finished product
- Double-check connections, torque values, and labelling before sign-off
- Report any missing, damaged, or incorrect materials to your supervisor or the quality team
- Perform continuity and point-to-point checks on completed wiring as directed
- Work alongside mechanical assemblers, engineers, and quality staff
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe workstation
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ year of hands-on electrical wiring experience. Panel building, control wiring, industrial, commercial, or residential electrical work all count, as does a completed electrical apprenticeship term or college electrical program
- Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable using common wiring tools such as strippers, crimpers, cutters, and torque drivers
- Basic understanding of electrical components like terminals, relays, contactors, breakers, and fuses
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, quality work
- Comfortable working in a structured production setting
- Able to do precise hands-on work at a bench or inside enclosures throughout a shift
- Steel-toed safety boots and applicable PPE required
Nice to Have
- Panel building or switchgear experience, especially medium voltage or IEC-standard enclosures
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric components or systems
- Knowledge of IEC, UL, or CSA wiring standards
- Experience with continuity testing and functional verification
- WHMIS training
- 309A or 442A licence, or currently working toward one
Don’t meet every requirement? Apply anyway. If you have a solid electrical foundation and a willingness to learn, our client is open to developing the right person.
Why This Role
You’ll be building equipment that ends up inside data centers, hospitals, mining operations, and major infrastructure projects across North America. This is a chance to grow your skills in a technically advanced environment with a company that is expanding fast.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
