Do you love the moment when a client’s patterns finally make sense? At Iridescence Counselling, we believe each person is like a dragonfly. Our work is guided by five values: Self-Discovery, Insight, Emotional Maturity, Personal Power, and Living in the Moment. We help clients understand the patterns they’re stuck in, where those patterns came from, and how to build the skills to respond differently. We’re a small, warm team in a beautifully designed office in St. Albert, and we’re looking for a therapist who shares our passion for this work and wants to grow a meaningful caseload with us.

What makes Iridescence different:

- Structured, treatment-focused therapy. We go deeper than talk therapy. Our clients come to us with everyday hurts, big and small traumas, and DSM-5 diagnoses such as depression and anxiety. We work with the patterns and unmet emotional needs underneath, not just the symptoms.
- A clear starting point with every client. Each client begins with a first session focused on being seen and heard, followed by confidential questionnaires that help identify their learned patterns, unmet emotional needs and a baseline of how they’re doing. You’ll have a full picture to build your treatment plan from.
- An integrative, schema-informed framework.

You’ll be trained and supported learning the effective treatment modalities to effectively work with our clients - our integrative approach that brings together schema therapy, CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT and attachment theory in a way clients can understand and use.
- Real support. You’ll work closely with an experienced clinical lead, with access to consultation and ongoing learning. You won’t be doing this alone.
- A space you’ll enjoy working in. Our office was designed with care to feel calm, protected and welcoming for clients and clinicians alike. Our office is located on a second level and there is only stairs to access - no elevator at this location. Free parking on site.
- Direct billing with a wide range of insurance providers, and scheduling, charting and client communication through Jane.

What you’ll do:

- Provide individual and couples counselling to adults, in person and virtually
- Complete assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
- Deliver structured, evidence-based therapy using approaches such as schema therapy, CBT, DBT, EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy), ACT, EMDR and attachment-informed practice
- Keep accurate and timely clinical documentation in Jane
- Collaborate with the clinical lead and practice owner
- Communicate professionally with clients about scheduling and session logistics
- Uphold all professional standards, confidentiality requirements and regulatory guidelines

Who we’re looking for:

We care as much about who you are as what’s on your resumé. You are:

- Passionate about your work and genuinely curious about what drives people’s patterns

- Committed to professionalism, ethical practice and your own growth as a clinician
- Warm, grounded and easy to connect with
- Open to feedback, consultation and learning new approaches
- Excited to build a caseload and grow with a practice over the long term

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in counselling, counselling psychology, social work, psychology or a related field
- Current registration in good standing (e.g., RSW, CCC, CT with ACTA, or Provisional Registered Psychologist, and/or Registered Psychologist)
- Minimum two years of counselling experience with adults - with the right candidate exceptions to years of experience will be considered.
- Experience with individual and couples counselling
- Professional liability insurance (required)
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerability Sector Check (required)
- Your own computer and a reliable setup for virtual sessions
- Experience in schema therapy, CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT, Attachment theory and EMDR is an asset but not required; a willingness to learn and be trained is essential
- Familiarity with Jane is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence (preferred)

Schedule:

We need a mix of daytime, evening and weekend availability. We’re open to discussing a schedule that works for both you and the clinic, and we’ll agree on it together before you start.

How to apply:

Send your resumé and a cover letter to [email protected]. In your cover letter, tell us what you love about this work and which approaches you’re most drawn to. Interviews will be conducted by the practice owner/therapist and the clinical lead - in person.

Pay: $100.00-$160.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week

Benefits:

- On-site parking

Work Location: In person
