Job Overview:

We are seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor who wants to join our team as an associate to gradually take over a maternity position which begins fully in February 2027. Caseload building can begin sooner than February.

This is an in-person position in Victoria, BC (located near Crystal Pool) The vast majority of referrals will be for in-person therapy. The associate will have access to an office throughout the week (see below for schedule). The associate is also provided flexibility to schedule clients virtually.

Thriving Minds is a small team with a shared passion for psychotherapy rooted in experience and action. The foundation of our work with clients is based on doing something differently, as opposed to only supportive listening. Many therapeutic modalities can satisfy this philosophy, but it requires that therapy be an active process aimed toward a goal.

What we provide:

- Referrals—all of our counsellors are currently fully booked.
- 7 day per week office availability (see schedule below)
- Your own listing on our website.
- Therapy admin software through Owl Practice.
- Clinical consultation (individual or group) (flexible depending on cirucumstances)
- Building your clientele, skills, reputation without having to build the clinic architecture.

Schedule/Office Hours:

- Afternoons (1:30pm onward) on Mon & Tues & Fri
- Mornings (Until 1:30pm) on Weds & Thurs
- Flexible availability on Weekends
- Schedule virtual clients any time.

Compensation:

35/65% split on all client hours. Our counsellors charge $160-180 per session.



Your office rent is included in the compensation split.

Ideal contractor profile:

- Demonstration of therapeutic training & philosophy in line with the values of Thriving Minds.
- Dedication to clinical and ethical excellence in working with clients.
- Capacity to manage a target case load of at least 15 clients per week as an associate.
- A master's degree in counselling and a professional license to practice.
- Proof of liability insurance.
- You maintain your own professional admin tasks: responding to client emails, scheduling your clients, writing session notes, billing.
- Clinic’s standard policy of a 48 hour cancellation window is available for use.

- You are joining the team as an independent contractor and not as an employee. Please educate yourself on the difference between these two labour arrangements
