Respirology & Rheumatology Associates is a patient-centered outpatient clinic committed to providing high quality respiratory care. We are seeking a dedicated spirometry technologist to join our team. The Spirometry Technician performs high quality spirometry testing and supports a explicit, organized testing experience. The role involves preparing equipment, guiding patients through breathing tests while following current standards and best practices.
Duties
- Ensure accuracy, calibration and maintenance of spirometry equipment, following established procedures for safe, reliable testing.
- Explain test steps to patients in clear, reassuring language and guide patients through breathing maneuvers.
- Perform spirometry tests according to established procedures and RESPTEC standards, observe technique, and repeat instructions when needed to support usable results.
- Record test information accurately, maintain organized documentation,
and work collaboratively with our healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Completion of (or willingness to complete) RESPTEC spirometry course.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage, as is related experience supporting patients or performing diagnostic tests.
Training Support
If you do not have the RESPTEC certification, we will cover the cost of certification to help you become a certified spirometry technologist. A minimum of (1) one-year of working commitment required.
