We are seeking a detail-oriented, safety-conscious Insulated Glass Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, and sealing multi-layer Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) used in residential and commercial windows, doors, and architectural structures. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, precise measuring skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, heavy-material production environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Glass Preparation & Cutting: Measure wash, and inspect raw glass lites (annealed, tempered, or coated glass) to precise production specifications.
- Spacer Frame Assembly: Cut, bend, corner-key, and construct spacer frames to exact dimensions. Fill spacer frames with desiccant to absorb moisture.
- Unit Assembly (The IGU Build): Align glass panes with spacer frames, apply primary sealants (such as polyisobutylene/PIB), and assemble multi-pane insulated glass units accurately.
- Sealing & Finishing: Apply secondary structural sealants (silicone, polyurethane, or polysulfide) around unit edges using automated machinery or manual caulking tools to ensure an airtight, watertight, and gas-tight seal (argon gas filling where applicable).
- Quality Control: Inspect finished IGUs for optical clarity, cleanliness,



dimensional accuracy, scratches, chips, or seal defects prior to packaging.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate automated glass, vertical washing machines, spacer bending machines, automated sealing robots, and overhead cranes/vacuum lifters.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical certification.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in glass manufacturing, window/door fabrication, is strongly preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Robust mechanical aptitude and spatial awareness.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting production orders, shop drawings, and tape measures down to 1/16th of an inch.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, square footage, and tolerances.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy materials (up to 50–75 lbs frequently) for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination for handling delicate, heavy glass panels safely.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
