L’aromas is looking for a dependable, enthusiastic cook to join our Southlands café and commissary kitchen. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their kitchen career who enjoys preparing good food, staying organized, and being part of a friendly team.

Our kitchen focuses on straightforward café food and prep work. You don’t need years of restaurant experience—we’re looking for a solid foundation, a positive attitude, and pride in doing things well.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare ingredients and assemble café menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Cook and plate orders consistently and efficiently.
- Help with batch preparation and commissary production.
- Follow portioning, labelling, storage, and food safety procedures.
- Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized.
- Assist with dishes, receiving deliveries, and putting stock away.
- Communicate with the café team to keep service running smoothly.
- Complete daily opening, closing, and cleaning tasks.

What You Bring

- Some previous experience in a café, restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen.




- Basic knife skills and an understanding of safe food handling.
- A willingness to follow recipes, take direction, and learn.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a helpful approach to teamwork.
- The ability to stay organized and maintain quality during busy periods.
- Comfort standing for a shift and handling routine kitchen lifting.
- FOODSAFE Level 1 or a willingness to obtain it.

Pay: From $18.25 per hour
