As a core member of our maintenance and operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining our food processing plant’s high-speed machinery and infrastructure. We are looking for a reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Licensed Industrial Millwright (Ontario 433A / Red Seal) who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will champion proactive health and safety practices, maintain rigorous food safety standards, and contribute directly to plant efficiency and operational goals through flexible shift coverage.

MAJOR DUTIES

1. Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) programs, perform timely running repairs, and rebuild plant equipment and mechanical components to minimize downtime.

2. Maintain equipment to strict hygienic engineering standards. Ensure all work areas and maintenance tasks strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and sanitation protocols.

3. Champion a proactive safety culture. Comply fully with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), plant safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and environmental regulations.

4. Utilize asset and maintenance management systems and maintain accurate technical documentation and the plant maintenance library.

5. Support team activities, problem-solving initiatives, and Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) practices to achieve factory performance targets.

6. Complies with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

7. Ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety requirements within the scope of the position.

8. Other duties as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

9. Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright (433A) and/or Interprovincial Red Seal.

10. Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a technical field, preferably within a food manufacturing,



beverage, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) workplace.

11. Strong working knowledge of food safety principles, regulatory requirements, and hygienic engineering (including GMP and HACCP).

12. In-depth knowledge of food processing equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and technology.

13. Familiarity with Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

14. Basic understanding of financial drivers and plant maintenance metrics.

15. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and computerized maintenance software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Physical Effort

 Some heavy physical activities (lifting and reaching), walk/stand frequently, push/pull.

 Required to work a flexible rotating shift schedule (3 shifts), including overtime and call-ins as operational needs dictate.

2. Physical Environment

 Exposure to noise (80-95 decibels) with PPE

 Working around moving mechanical components, hazardous energies, wet/slippery floors, and varying temperature zones.

 Controlled exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and ammonia systems.

3. Sensory - A high level of sensory attention is required.

4. Mental Stress - A moderate to high level of job stress may occur.
