Overview

We are a busy commercial print shop looking for an experienced and reliable Large Format Print Operator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a print production environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating large-format printing and finishing equipment, preparing files for production, monitoring print quality, and moving jobs efficiently through production and finishing.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently on equipment, understands large-format materials and print workflows, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate large-format printing equipment, including flatbed and roll-to-roll printers
- Operate the OCE Arizona 350GT, HP Latex 365, HP PageWide XL 5100, Seal Laminator, and Kongsberg Router/Cutter
- Use ONYX Thrive to RIP, prepare, and manage large-format production files
- Load and handle a variety of roll and rigid substrates
- Check files for size, resolution, bleed, cut paths, colour setup, and other production requirements
- Monitor print quality, colour consistency, registration, and overall job accuracy
- Perform laminating, mounting, trimming, cutting, and other finishing operations
- Set up cut files and operate the Kongsberg Router/Cutter
- Inspect finished work against job specifications before releasing it to the next stage
- Manage multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Perform routine operator maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting
- Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Track materials and communicate stock or production issues to the appropriate team members
- Coordinate with customer service, prepress, and other production staff to ensure deadlines are met
- Follow established safety procedures when operating printing and finishing equipment

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial print or large-format production environment




- Hands-on experience operating large-format printing and finishing equipment
- Experience with ONYX Thrive or similar RIP/workflow software
- Strong understanding of large-format print production workflows
- Experience working with both roll and rigid substrates
- Understanding of CMYK colour, resolution, bleeds, cut paths, and print-ready file requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to accurately read measurements, job tickets, and production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Experience with Avanti, PrintIQ, or a similar print MIS system
- Experience with OCE/Canon Arizona, HP Latex, HP PageWide, Seal laminators, or Kongsberg cutting equipment is an asset

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong working knowledge of ONYX Thrive
- Experience operating an OCE/Canon Arizona flatbed printer
- Experience with HP Latex printers
- Experience with HP PageWide XL equipment
- Experience operating a Kongsberg digital cutter/router
- Experience with Seal laminating equipment
- Experience producing signage, decals, banners, displays, window graphics, and rigid signage
- Experience working with materials such as vinyl, banner, adhesive films, paper, coroplast, foam board, acrylic, aluminum composite panels, and other rigid substrates
- Experience with signage and environmental graphics production
- Experience with mounting and finishing large-format graphics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
