We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated bilingual Chemistry Tutor fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, able to explain complex scientific concepts clearly, and committed to helping students succeed.
Job Summary
We are seeking a part time tutor to provide one-on-one and small-group instruction in high school Chemistry and AP Chemistry. The successful candidate will tailor lessons to students' individual learning needs and help them develop a strong understanding of chemistry concepts and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in high school Chemistry and AP Chemistry.
- Explain chemistry concepts, chemical equations, stoichiometry, bonding, equilibrium, thermodynamics, and other relevant topics.
- Prepare students for school assessments and the AP Chemistry examination.
- Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Develop students' problem-solving skills and confidence in chemistry.
- Communicate professionally with students and parents regarding learning progress.
Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to explain academic concepts clearly in both languages.
- At least 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in high school Chemistry and AP Chemistry.
- Familiarity with the AP Chemistry curriculum and examination format.
- Strong communication skills and a student-centred teaching approach.
- Available to teach in person at our West Vancouver location.
Schedule
- Part-time, flexible schedule.
- Hours arranged based on student needs and tutor availability.
