Job Description

The Judge & Jury, an established British gastropub in Burlington, is seeking an experienced, reliable, and service-oriented Server / Bartender to join our team.

We take pride in delivering quality food, exceptional hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

We are looking for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well as part of a team, and consistently maintains high standards of service.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 2 years of serving experience preferred, ideally in a busy restaurant, pub, or similar hospitality environment.
- Previous bartending experience is considered a strong asset.
- Valid Smart Serve certification required.
- Strong English communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with guests and team members and perform essential job duties.
- Ability to manage multiple tables, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy during high-volume service.
- Solid knowledge of food, beverages, and responsible alcohol service.
- Professional, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide attentive, professional, and efficient table and bar service.
- Welcome guests, explain menu offerings, and make food and beverage recommendations.
- Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
- Manage multiple tables and service responsibilities during busy periods.




- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Smart Serve guidelines and applicable Ontario liquor laws.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service and bar areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, front of house staff and management to support smooth daily operations.
- Follow established restaurant policies and service standards.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side duties.
