Job description:

Soica & Associates is an established, growing Toronto family law firm seeking a motivated lawyer to join our family law practice. We offer a collaborative and supportive environment, meaningful litigation opportunities, a private office, and a hybrid work arrangement.

This position is well suited to a lawyer who enjoys litigation, particularly family court proceedings, and is confident independently managing a combination of litigation and negotiation files. Wills and estates/probate experience is an asset.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of family law experience; 2 to 4 years is preferred. The successful candidate should have a robust understanding of Ontario family law procedures and experience with conferences and motions. The lawyer should be able to manage routine files independently, with mentorship and support available for more complex matters.

Duties:

· Conduct consultations with prospective clients and confidently develop client relationships;

· Manage family law files, including litigation, court appearances, drafting pleadings, conferences and motions;

· Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations and draft separation agreements;

· Handle parenting, child support, spousal support and property matters;

· Meet court deadlines and communicate promptly with clients.

Skills:

· Ability to independently draft family law pleadings, conference briefs, financial statements and motion materials;





· Strong knowledge of Ontario family law and the court process;

· Excellent written communication, oral advocacy and negotiation skills;

· Professionalism, sound judgment and a client-focused approach;

· Excellent time management and ability to handle a busy caseload;

· Collaborative, reliable team member.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 per year (negotiable based on experience)

Additional pay:

· Performance-based bonus, subject to eligibility after the probation period, based on billing and collections.

· Monday to Friday;

· Hybrid arrangement with an in-person and remote schedule, subject to operational requirements;

Licence/Certification:

· Licensed to practise law and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (required).

Flexible language requirement:

· French not required;

· Spanish or other languages are an asset.
