We are seeking an experienced and dependable Dietary Cook to join our retirement home client’s team in Wasaga Beach, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals, following food safety standards, and ensuring residents receive quality food service in a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, dietary requirements, and residents’ nutritional needs.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and portion control.
- Accommodate special diets and food allergies as required.
- Collaborate with dietary and care team members to ensure smooth meal service.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience as a cook in a retirement home or long-term care facility is required.




- Valid Food Handler Certification is mandatory.
- Must be fully vaccinated, in accordance with applicable workplace requirements.
- Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
- Must be able to commute to Wasaga Beach, ON.
- Must be flexible and available to cover emergency shifts when required.
- Robust teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.

Shifts and Scheduling

Shifts will be assigned by the retirement home administrator based on operational requirements. Flexibility to cover emergency shifts is essential.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Experience:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- TB skin test (required)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
- Food Handler Certification (required)
