Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Drywall Helper to join our construction team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building trades and looking to gain hands-on experience in drywall installation and finishing. The Drywall Helper will assist skilled carpenters and drywall installers in various tasks on commercial and residential projects, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality results. Candidates with construction painting, carpentry, handyman experience, or familiarity with blueprint reading are encouraged to apply. This position is ideal for those eager to develop their skills within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the installation, cutting, and positioning of drywall panels on walls and ceilings
- Prepare surfaces by measuring, marking, and cutting drywall sheets accurately
- Support the application of joint compound, tape, and finishing techniques under supervision
- Help with the setup and cleanup of work areas to maintain a safe and organized job site
- Carry materials such as drywall sheets, tools, and supplies to designated areas
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment at all times




- Support carpenters with related tasks such as caulking, painting prep, or minor repairs as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints or project plans to assist in accurate drywall placement

Qualifications

- Prior experience in construction painting, carpentry, or handyman work is a plus but not required
- Basic knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques preferred
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is advantageous
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is a plus
- Willingness to learn recent skills and work as part of a team

Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
