Job Summary

ATA Trucking is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Class 3 Driver to support waste collection operations for Emterra Group. The successful candidate will operate collection vehicles, follow assigned routes, and provide safe and efficient waste collection services while maintaining a professional and respectful approach with customers and the public.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate a Class 3 waste collection truck safely and efficiently.
- Follow assigned routes and daily collection schedules.
- Collect and transport waste and recyclable materials from residential and commercial locations.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety procedures, and waste collection guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of completed routes, collections, and incidents.
- Communicate route delays, missed collections, vehicle issues, and other concerns to the supervisor.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers and members of the public.
- Keep the vehicle clean and ensure waste is transported and handled safely.
- Work cooperatively with collection attendants, dispatchers, supervisors, and Emterra operations teams.




- Follow all applicable company policies and site-specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 3 driver's licence with air brake endorsement, if required for the assigned vehicle.
- Acceptable driver's abstract.
- Previous commercial driving experience; waste collection experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of vehicle safety inspections and protected driving practices.
- Ability to follow routes, instructions, and safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe work practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding duties as required.

Work Environment

- Work involves driving waste collection vehicles on assigned routes.
- Daily work may include residential streets, commercial sites, transfer stations, and other designated collection locations.
- Early morning starts, overtime, and weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.

Safety and Compliance

The driver must comply with applicable transportation and occupational health and safety requirements, maintain the required driver's licence and endorsements, and follow ATA Trucking's policies and applicable Emterra site and operational procedures.
