Do you want to practice pharmacy the way it was meant to be—building long‑term relationships, using your clinical judgment, and working at an even pace without corporate quotas? Join our independent community pharmacy in Central Alberta and become a trusted health professional in a welcoming rural community.

About the role

As our Community Pharmacist, you’ll be the clinical backbone of a well‑established independent pharmacy that serves a loyal, close‑knit patient base. You’ll have the time and support to provide thoughtful, individualized care rather than rushing through prescriptions or pushing forced clinical services. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who values autonomy, community connection, and a balanced pace of work.

Why you’ll love working here

- Rural community relationships: Get to know your patients and their families over time, and play a meaningful role in their health journeys.
- Even-paced workflow: Enjoy a manageable prescription volume and a calm, organized dispensary—no constant pressure to hit corporate metrics.
- No forced clinical quotas: We support clinically appropriate services, not “checkbox care.” You’ll never be pressured to push unnecessary medication reviews or programs.
- Independent practice environment: Your voice matters. Collaborate directly with the owner and team to shape services, workflow, and the future of the pharmacy.
- Quality over quantity: Focus on accuracy, safety, and good conversations, rather than speed and volume.

Key responsibilities

- Provide patient‑centred dispensing and counselling, ensuring safe, appropriate, and effective medication use.
- Build and maintain solid professional relationships with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and other health‑care providers in the community.
- Offer clear, compassionate education on medications, chronic disease management, and preventative health.
- Review and verify prescriptions, resolve medication‑related problems,

and use your clinical judgment to optimize therapy.
- Oversee and support pharmacy assistants/technicians in day‑to‑day operations.
- Participate in professional services (e.g., injections, medication reviews) when they are clinically appropriate and beneficial to patients—never as forced quotas.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, efficient, and compliant dispensary that meets Alberta College of Pharmacy standards.

What you bring

- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in getting to know patients over time.
- Comfort practicing in a rural setting, working closely with a small, dedicated team.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive workplace culture.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions without constant corporate oversight.

What we offer

- Competitive hourly wage: $60–$69 per hour, based on experience and skills.
- Stable, balanced workdays: Even-paced workflow with realistic expectations and time to do things properly.
- Supportive team: Work with experienced staff who respect your professional judgment and help keep the dispensary running smoothly.
- Community connection: The satisfaction of being “the pharmacist” for your town—patients will know you by name and trust your advice.
- Autonomy and input: Direct access to ownership and the ability to help shape services, processes, and future growth.
