Davenport Garden Centre is accepting applications for Christmas season sales associates for their downtown Toronto location. The associate position involves processing customer purchases of Christmas trees, wreaths, seasonal greens and other Christmas and winter-decor-related items. Merchandising will be another aspect of this job - looking after the displays of Christmas ornaments and wreaths in the greenhouse area of the garden centre.

In addition to cashier experience, being familar with online sales processing is an asset. Applicants should enjoy working with the public and possess excellent customer service skills. The job is best suited to people with a knowledge of, and interest in trees and plants, and who are enthusiastic about the Christmas season. The applicants must be able to work independently, and as part of a team. Detail orientation,



dependability and efficiency are essential.

This job involves working in an outdoor environment, standing for extended periods of time, and some lifting. Work schedules include days, evenings and weekends, as required. Cashier experience within a retail sales setting is required, and interest in plants/horticulture is an asset. This is a seasonal contract which concludes at Christmas; there are opportunities to be re-hired in the spring.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 – 40.0 per week
