Teacher Responsibilities

· create an engaging and effective learning environment

· deliver lessons using a creative variety of teaching strategies

· collect and grade weekly homework providing detailed and effective feedback

· maintain accurate written records of student attendance and marks

· email parents of student progress, weekly incomplete/missing homework, etc.

· prepare two report cards a year

· a degree in English, history or a similar arts discipline that requires effective academic writing skills

· a fundamental understanding of English grammar and formal writing conventions

· excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

· effective time management and organizational skills

· effective technical skills to manage emails and use of technology in the classroom

· Definite assets: classroom teaching experience at high/middle school, debate/oral presentation skills, google docs./slides, and zoom capabilities

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 per week
