Royce-Ayr Cutting Tools is a Cambridge manufacturer of precision cutting tools. We build custom and standard tooling, including solid carbide router bits and PCD-tipped (polycrystalline diamond) tools, for demanding machining applications, from our shop on Sheldon Drive.

We are looking for a CNC Grinding Operator to run our Norma CNC grinder, resharpening solid carbide spiral router bits so they go back to our customers cutting like new.

If you have run a CNC grinder before, great. If you have not, we will train you. What we are looking for is someone who is careful with measurements, reliable, and wants to learn the trade.

Shift: Training is on day shift. Once trained, the role may move to afternoon shift.

What you will do:

- Set up and run the Norma CNC grinder for spiral tool sharpening
- Inspect incoming tools for wear and damage before sharpening
- Sharpen cutting edges and clearances on spiral router bits to spec
- Measure your own work with micrometers, calipers and gauges, and hold the tolerance
- Make offset adjustments and change and dress grinding wheels
- Read work orders and job instructions
- Inspect,



label and package finished tools, and keep the machine and work area clean

What you bring:

- Comfortable with measurement and shop math, including reading a micrometer and working in thousandths of an inch
- Positive attention to detail. You would rather check a tool twice than pass a bad one
- Reliable attendance and a willingness to learn
- Willing to work afternoon shift once trained
- CNC grinding, tool sharpening or CNC machining experience is an asset, but not required
