WE’RE HIRING – EXPERIENCED WORKING FOREMAN

Modular Buildings / Construction

High Gear Modular Ltd. | Spruce Grove, Alberta
$35–$45 per hour | Full-Time, Permanent | Employee Benefits

BUILT DIFFERENT. LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

Know modular buildings inside and out—and know how to lead a crew? We want to hear from you.

High Gear Modular Ltd. is an established, family-owned company with over 30 years of experience in the modular building industry. We’ve built our reputation on quality workmanship, reliability, and getting the job done right.

We’re looking for an Experienced Working Foreman who can take ownership of a project, organize the crew, and work alongside them to get the job done.

This position requires practical construction knowledge, sound judgment, and strong leadership. You must be able to handle pressure, adapt when plans change, and communicate professionally—even when the day gets challenging.

Previous modular building or industrial trailer experience is REQUIRED, along with proven experience leading a construction crew.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Our work is diverse, hands-on, and challenging. Your responsibilities will include:

- Crew Leadership: Plan daily activities, assign tasks, provide clear direction, and hold the crew accountable for safety, productivity, and workmanship.
- Hands-On Construction: Work alongside the crew on modular installations, dismantling, repairs, renovations, and building modifications.
- Modular Installation & Dismantling: Lead blocking, levelling, joining, skirting, interconnections, and dismantling activities.
- Repairs & Renovations: Oversee and perform framing, drywall, flooring, siding, roofing, door and window installation, and interior/exterior finishing.
- Project Coordination: Read drawings and scopes, coordinate with subcontractors, and anticipate material, equipment, and labour needs.
- Quality Control: Inspect work throughout the project, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrections are completed.
- Communication: Keep management informed of progress, delays, site conditions,

and potential changes to the scope. Maintain professional relationships with clients and site representatives.
- Safety & Documentation: Lead safe work practices and ensure daily logs, progress photos, and time records are accurate and submitted on time.
- Tools & Equipment: Ensure company tools, equipment, and materials are used properly, maintained, and accounted for.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

We’re looking for someone with:

- Proven hands-on experience in modular building installation, dismantling, repairs, and renovations.
- Previous experience supervising construction crews and coordinating subcontractors.
- Solid carpentry skills and a well-rounded understanding of building construction.
- The ability to block and level modular buildings and complete interior, exterior, and skirting work.
- The ability to read drawings, understand the scope, and organize work in a practical sequence.
- Strong planning skills—you identify what’s needed before it holds up the crew.
- The ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and recognize when management needs to be involved.
- A calm, direct, and respectful leadership style.
- Reliability, personal accountability, and consistent follow-through.
- Basic phone and computer skills for email, construction software, daily reports, and photos.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as project requirements demand.

Additional assets include:

- Journeyperson Carpenter certification.
- CSTS 2020, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid.
- Aerial Work Platform, Telehandler, H2S Alive, and other relevant safety certifications.

WHY WORK WITH HIGH GEAR MODULAR?
