Cataraqui Heights Retirement Residence is seeking a part-time Cook and a part-time Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our residents’ dining experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Cook or Prep Cook, you will support meal preparation according to established menus, recipes, and standards. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen while working collaboratively with the culinary team.

Schedule

- Part time opportunities.
- Day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established menus, recipes, and standards.
- Present meals in an appetizing manner, maintaining quality in both taste and appearance.
- Handle food safely and comply with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with serving meals and provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support efficient workflow.
- Stay informed about food preparation techniques and industry trends.

Qualifications

- Current Safe Food Handler Certification.




- Experience in quantity food preparation and preparing therapeutic diets.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and its use.
- Empathy for and an understanding of the needs of older adults.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English; follow verbal and written directions; and perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the kitchen and dietary teams.
- Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
