Description of Position:

NorthWind has an opening for a Part time Temporary OR Contracted Draftsperson to produce drawings for Environmental Assessments, including Environmental Site Maps for Phase I, II, III and IV ESAs, Engineering Drawings, Field Sketches and Survey Drawings, including but not limited to Groundwater Contour Maps & COC Maps. You will be working with a team of motivated and hardworking professionals who are committed to technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

- Proficient in Surfer 2015
- Familiar with AutoCAD
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Familiar with the use of external reference files and able to use layer naming conventions as per client drafting standards
- Proficient in drawing layout
- Able to confirm that design drawings conform to drafting specifications and design data
- Plotting/modeling water and chemistry data (Surfer/Excel)
- Prepare figures and other related documents based on field and database information for small and large scale reclamation, remediation and spill projects
- Coordinate project drawings with Project Managers and others
- Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner, while recognizing budgetary restraints
- Support other environmental service line projects as required
- Customizations to all drawings based on client preferences

Qualifications:

- Drafting and GIS experience (Certificate is an asset)




- Comprehensive knowledge of Surfer software is essential
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with Surfer drafting tool
- Ability to navigate AutoCAD drafting tool
- Proficient in drawings using both imperial and metric units of measurement
- Can work with aerial images and/or field sketches
- Displays an interest in all aspects of Environmental Sciences
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong spatial perception, logical reasoning and numerical ability
- Detail oriented and accurate
- An enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
- Collaborates and works well with others
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Motivated to learn and quickly picks up new concepts
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines within a team environment
