Design scalable data infrastructure in Toronto with Okta, using distributed systems and streaming technologies to support analytics and machine learning. As a Senior Software Reliability Engineer, you will build foundational services within Okta’s Data Platform organization. The position focuses on high-volume, low-latency distributed data-platform services and products. You will design, deploy, optimize, and own streaming infrastructure using technologies including Kinesis, Flink, Elasticsearch, and Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable, high-performance data platform components
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and performance tuning
- Coach and mentor engineers across the organization




- Debug production issues and participate in incident management

Requirements:
- Three or more years of industry experience
- Two or more years using object-oriented languages, preferably Java
- Experience with Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, or Snowflake
- Understanding of multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management
