Position: Senior Data Architect / Modeller

Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite/Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Qualified Services Engagement - B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect / Modeller to support enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and modernization initiatives within a complex, distributed technology environment.

The successful consultant will be responsible for analyzing existing application data structures, evaluating business and technical requirements, designing target-state data models, and ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture standards. This role requires advanced expertise in logical and physical data modeling, data analysis, source-to-target mapping, and collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.

Scope

Review, assess, and document source-system data models and databases.

Design and maintain logical and physical data models for enterprise applications.

Develop source-to-target data mappings and transformation specifications.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to support project delivery.

Assignment Deliverables

Reviewing and analyzing existing application and database architectures.

Developing logical and physical data models to support target-state solutions.

Creating source-to-target mapping documentation and data transformation specifications.





Supporting development teams with data architecture guidance and technical artifacts.

Performing data analysis and validation activities to ensure solution quality and integrity.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

Minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or related disciplines.

Demonstrated experience reviewing and analyzing business needs and requirements for existing IT applications and related data structures.

Proven experience designing and developing target-state logical and physical data models.

Strong experience conducting data analysis, data research, and data architecture assessments.

Expert knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and SQL.

Experience analyzing source systems and creating source-to-target data mappings.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Azure Data Lakehouse environments.

Understanding of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema design methodologies.

Experience supporting enterprise data modernization initiatives.
