We are looking for a reliable, warm, and organized Family Assistant to provide after-school and evening support every other week. Schedule Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-8:00 PM Every other week (approximately two weeks per month) 25 hours during working weeks There are no regular childcare hours required during the alternate weeks. Responsibilities The afternoon and evening routine will generally include: * School pickup * Driving the children to and from extracurricular activities and appointments as needed * Preparing snacks and dinner * Helping keep the kitchen and common areas tidy * Supporting the children with their evening routine * Helping the children prepare for the next school day * Helping the children organize and pack their school bags * Making sure homework, school forms, water bottles and other necessary items are ready * Helping prepare clothing and activity/sports equipment for the following day * Preparing lunches or snacks for the next school day as needed * Children's laundry and light household tasks when time permits * Helping keep the afternoon and evening routine organized and running smoothly About the Role We are looking for someone who can become a consistent part of our family's routine rather than simply providing occasional babysitting. An important part of the role is helping the children develop a good routine and take responsibility for preparing themselves for the following day, rather than doing everything for them. The ideal person is: * Reliable and punctual * Warm, patient and comfortable with children * Organized and proactive * Comfortable preparing simple, healthy family dinners * Comfortable driving children to activities * Able to manage the afternoon and evening routine independently * Comfortable guiding children with organization and age-appropriate responsibilities * Respectful of our home and family's privacy A valid driver's licence and protected driving record are required. We are hoping to find someone interested in a consistent, longer-term arrangement who appreciates the flexibility of an every-other-week schedule.
