Operate heavy equipment in person for the City of Prince Rupert while applying water infrastructure and secure work practices.

The full-time Labourer V works in the Public Works Sector of the Operations Department. Reporting to Operations Management, this position performs manual labour and operates equipment for Public Works. Duties include water and wastewater infrastructure, concrete, asphalt, excavation awareness, and municipal maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate heavy equipment safely under legislation, policies, and procedures
- Install, maintain, and repair water and wastewater infrastructure
- Complete operator logbooks and follow complex instructions
- Perform concrete and asphalt maintenance and construction activities




- Work around vehicles, equipment, and pedestrian traffic

Requirements:
- Dogwood Diploma or GED
- Class 3 British Columbia driver’s licence with Air Brake endorsement
- 2,000 hours’ experience and Operator II equipment proficiency
- English communication and written reporting abilities
- Capacity for heavy manual tasks and lifting up to 100 pounds
