Job description

Curbify Inc. is looking for two landscape labourers - one as a shovel hand and operator, the other as a finishing hand. Both positions require you to be available at a consistent start time at the beginning of the day (8am) and be available for the whole day, which can be as short as 8 hours and as long as 12. These positions will be for the summer season, ending around Oct 15th, and we work as weather permits. Endurance and ability to self-manage in an outdoor work workplace is essential.

Duties include :

- Shovel Hand: Transporting and shoveling of concrete mix, operation of small motorized equipment (sod cutter, powered wheelbarrow, tamper, sometimes concrete extruder).
- Finishing Hand: Use of concrete finishing tools such as trowels, concrete stamps, rollers, leaf blowers, sealant spray bottle, etc.
- Ability to carry objects up to 100lbs consistently.
- Keeping an organized and professional worksite.
- Cleaning up clients yards/gardens at end of job to ensure quality experience.
- Cutting, edging and removal of sod in preparation of curb installation.
- Assisting in the organizing and maintaining of inventory and tools.

Job Requirements :

- Must be able to speak English
- Labour, Construction or Landscaping Experience
- Owns a reliable mode of transportation to company base of operations in south Edmonton




- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 100lbs), transport material around sites, working in a variety of weather conditions.
- Employees will supply CSA certified Steel Toe Safety Boots
- Physically fit and able to operate up to 10 to 12 hours per day when required.
- Attention to detail and ability to do clean work.
- Commitment to the season ending around mid-October
- A positive can do attitude with the willingness and ability to learn new techniques and tasks.
- Work in a safe, efficient manner, with quality and attention to detail paramount.
- Ability to work in a team setting, maintaining awareness of how your work affects your teams ability to function. Punctual and reliable.
- Willingness to wear a mask as required for Covid safety restrictions.

Valued Skillsets (not required but useful) :

- Ability to operate landscaping equipment - sod cutters, tampers, edgers, etc.
- Experience with towing trailers and driving trucks
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience with power tools
- Artistic inclinations and fine motor skills
- Baking experience (yes really, though we won't ask you to bring muffins to work - unless you want to)
- Leadership experience

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
