About Our Family & Care Style We are a Richmond Hill family seeking a warm, patient, and reliable Mother's Helper / Nanny to assist with our 15-month-old toddler during the workweek (Mon-Fri). A parent will usually be working or busy at home (and may occasionally step out for appointments), so we are looking for a trustworthy extra pair of hands to manage care smoothly whether we are present or away. We practice a respectful, gentle, and non-authoritarian parenting approach-focusing on empathy, calm connection, and honoring our child's sensitive and observant temperament. We encourage Montessori-inspired open-ended play and lots of indoor reading in a screen-reduced environment (screen time in our home is limited to occasional video calls with family). We welcome caregivers fluent in English who also speak Cantonese (廣東話) or Mandarin (普通話), and/or have familiarity with Chinese household customs and cultural practices (e.g., prior domestic or nanny experience in Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Chinese-speaking households). Schedule & Hours Current Schedule: ~15 hours/week across Monday to Friday (daytime hours). Upcoming Ramping: Hours will expand to ~20-30 hours/week starting in February 2027. Start Date: As soon as possible. Primary Responsibilities Toddler Engagement & Care: Supervising, reading, and engaging our toddler; supporting calm nap routines and handling diaper changes. Toddler Meals & Snacks: Prepping nutritious snacks and meals for our toddler (and simple lunch assembly for the parent at home, if needed), plus feeding cleanup. Light Household Help: Tidying up play areas,



doing baby laundry, and loading/unloading the dishwasher. Outings & Excursions: Joining us on family outings (e.g., local grocery store trips, brunch/lunch, visits to the farm or museum) as an extra pair of hands, as well as taking local outdoor walks/park visits. [future] Requirements & Qualifications Prior experience with infants or toddlers (references appreciated). Fluent in English; ability to speak Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong asset. Comfortable working independently when a parent steps out for appointments, collaboratively at home, and accompanying the family on trips/outings. Warm, patient, energetic, and attuned to the needs of a sensitive toddler. First Aid / CPR certification preferred. Non-smoker and able to commute reliably to Richmond Hill. Pay & Terms Rate: $20/hour (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).
