Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting to join our team on a Contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, you will support complex accounting and financial reporting matters by researching technical accounting issues, preparing accounting memos, and ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and company policies. Working closely with finance and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in the month-end close process, audit support, financial analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Research, assess, and document complex accounting issues, providing recommendations in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE, and company accounting policies.
- Prepare technical accounting analyses and draft accounting position papers and technical memos to support accounting conclusions and business transactions.
- Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, working papers, and financial analyses.
- Investigate unusual transactions, variances, and reporting issues, identify root causes, and partner with stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
- Support the preparation and review of financial reporting deliverables while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Lead assigned audit and compliance activities,



serving as a key liaison with external auditors and coordinating the collection of supporting documentation.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring adherence to accounting policies, governance standards, and risk management practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced reporting, driving greater efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function.

Requirements:

- CPA designation (or international equivalent) required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in public practice, industry, or a combination of both.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge with experience applying IFRS, US GAAP, and/or ASPE to complex accounting matters.
- Experience researching accounting issues and preparing technical accounting memos, position papers, or accounting policy documentation.
- Solid understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement analysis.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, identify underlying drivers, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience working in multi-entity, intercompany, and/or multi-currency environments is considered an asset.
- Previous external audit experience and exposure to large or complex organizations are preferred but not required; industry-specific experience is beneficial but not essential.
