Job Description:

THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst to support the ongoing detection and escalation of potentially suspicious financial activity. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance standards, monitoring transaction activity, and helping strengthen the organization's anti-money laundering framework.

Responsibilities:

- Review and assess Level 1 transaction monitoring alerts, investigating and clearing non-suspicious activity while documenting decisions thoroughly
- Escalate unusual or potentially suspicious transactions to the appropriate compliance stakeholders in a timely manner
- Maintain complete and audit-ready case files that align with internal recordkeeping and regulatory requirements
- Identify recurring false-positive trends and provide feedback to support monitoring rule enhancements
- Monitor for transaction patterns that exceed established risk thresholds and escalate concerns as required
- Collaborate on transaction monitoring improvements, including rule optimization and threshold adjustments
- Contribute to AML awareness initiatives by supporting training and knowledge sharing across business teams
- Assist in strengthening the overall effectiveness of the organization's financial crime prevention program

Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Top Skills & Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in AML transaction monitoring, alert investigations, or financial crime compliance environments
- Background working within payments, fintech, money services businesses, or similarly regulated financial sectors
- Knowledge of Canadian AML regulations, including FINTRAC reporting requirements, or the ability to quickly learn complex regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage high transaction volumes while maintaining accuracy and consistent documentation standards
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify unusual transaction behaviour and emerging risks
- Excellent written communication and case management abilities with a focus on audit readiness
- CAMS designation is preferred, or a willingness to obtain certification within the first year of employment
- Exposure to iGaming, online gaming, or regulated digital commerce environments is considered a strong asset
