TalentWorld is recruiting a Maintenance Technician - 5th Class Power Engineer in Chilliwack, British Columbia for one of its valued partners.

Bring your mechanical troubleshooting skills and power engineering certification to a food manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and equipment reliability are priorities. This hands-on role focuses primarily on equipment and facility maintenance, with boiler operation accounting for approximately 10% of your time.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair production equipment and building facilities
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and respond to breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Complete preventative maintenance to support equipment reliability and efficiency
Perform boiler start-ups, shutdowns, periodic testing, blowdowns, and logbook entries
Support continuous improvement initiatives and document maintenance activities
Work independently and collaboratively with the maintenance team
Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards





Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

Valid 5th Class Power Engineer certificate is mandatory
At least two years of millwright apprenticeship or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
Millwright or Electrician trade qualification is an asset
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
PLC programming and troubleshooting experience preferred
Microsoft Office proficiency; PMXPERT, PLC Data, or SAP experience is an asset
Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and prioritization skills
Ability to perform essential maintenance duties, with accommodation where required
