Hi there I am a single mom looking for a kind, reliable, patient helper to pick up my five-year-old daughter, Sofie, from Sherwood Park Elementary and bring her safely home to her grandmother in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. Sofie has recently been diagnosed with Level 1 Autism. She is a sweet, bright and spirited little girl who may need extra support with emotional regulation, transitions and managing overwhelming situations. She would be best suited to someone who understands neurodivergence, is familiar with autistic children, and can provide calm, compassionate and supportive care that respects her individual needs. Hours and

responsibilities:
• School pickup on weekdays, with approximately 30-60 minutes needed to accompany Sofie safely home to Grandma.
• The option to spend additional time with her at a nearby playground or enjoying a little treat after school.
• Helping her transition calmly from school to home and ensuring a secure handover to Grandma. Ideal

qualifications:
• Experience supporting autistic or other neurodivergent children.
• A background as an Education Assistant (EA), Behavioural Interventionist (BI), Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Child and Youth Care worker, or a student studying education, psychology or a related field.
• An understanding of emotional regulation, co-regulation, sensory needs and positive behaviour support.
• A calm, patient and reassuring approach, with the ability to recognize when a child needs extra support.
• Reliable transportation or the ability to safely accompany her home using an agreed-upon route.
• First Aid/CPR certification, references and an appropriate criminal record check. I am open to working with an experienced professional, a university or college student, or a nanny who genuinely enjoys supporting neurodivergent children.
